Resume paused projects

You can resume paused projects in a couple of different ways depending on your Netlify team account details. A Netlify team account is paused when projects use up their monthly usage limit.

When a Netlify team account uses up its monthly usage limit, all projects owned by that team enter a paused state until the start of the next billing cycle or until you increase your usage limits by upgrading your plan.

If you do nothing, your web projects remain paused until the start of the next billing cycle. At the start of your next billing cycle, your web projects will automatically resume and start accepting form submissions, web requests, and more.

If you have a credit-based plan, you can buy more credits through auto recharge to keep your projects active on the web.

When a project is paused, it can no longer receive the following:

  • web requests
  • form submissions
  • other types of traffic

In addition, all deploys will pause, including Deploy Previews and branch deploys.

Your site or app visitors will find a message that says Site not available that mentions your site is paused.

If you have a credit-based pricing plan, you can unpause or resume your projects’ online operation by buying more credits through auto recharge or by upgrading to a higher plan.

If you are on a paid plan, such as the Personal or Pro plan, you can buy more credits to resume your web project using auto recharge.

You must be a Team Owner to buy more credits using auto recharge, and if you have a Pro plan, you can add additional Team Owners to your project as needed. Learn more about adding Team Owners.

Here’s how auto recharge works:

  • Auto recharge keeps your web projects active on the web by automatically purchasing credits in small increments as needed by your projects
  • You can turn it on or off as needed at any time (it’s off by default)
  • Extra credits purchased through auto recharge will roll over to your next billing cycle after your team account has used its monthly plan credits.

These are the rates that auto recharge uses to purchase more credits for your project as needed:

  • Personal plan: 200 credits for $5
  • Pro plan: 1000 credits for $20

Note that if you have a free plan, you cannot use auto recharge. You can only wait until the next billing cycle starts or upgrade your plan.

Learn more about auto recharge.

  1. From your Netlify team dashboard, go to Usage & billing. Usage & billing option marked with 1 on left nav bar of team dashboard and Configure auto recharge marked with 2

To resume or unpause your projects, you can also upgrade your pricing plan. Learn more about your upgrade options on Netlify’s official pricing page.
